Explore your painting. Develop your skills. Find your own style.
Would you like to spend more time developing your painting, exploring new ideas and learning alongside other painters?
My five-week acrylic painting courses offer the opportunity to focus on a particular subject over five consecutive sessions. With demonstrations, practical guidance and individual tuition throughout, you’ll have time to experiment, build confidence and take your painting further.
My approach is to help each person develop from the stage they are at. Whether you want to improve your technique, explore new ways of working or discover your own interpretation of a subject, I’ll offer guidance tailored to your individual needs.
You won’t be expected to paint in the same way as everyone else. I encourage you to develop your own ideas, make your own choices and discover what works for you.
Painting alongside a small group of other artists also brings inspiration, conversation and the opportunity to share ideas and learn from one another.

Abstract
Experiment, explore and develop your own visual language.
This course offers the opportunity to explore a more expressive approach to painting. Through colour, composition, shape, mark-making, layering and texture, we’ll discover how paintings can develop through experimentation and individual interpretation.
You might begin with an image, an idea, a memory, a feeling or simply a colour or mark that interests you. Demonstrations and individual guidance will help you explore possibilities, develop your ideas and discover new ways of working.
There is no single right way to create an abstract painting. The aim is to experiment, take creative risks and develop a style that feels personal to you.
You’ll explore: colour, composition, expressive mark-making, layering, transparency, texture and abstraction.
